14 Super Smoothies You Can Make In 10 Minutes… Or Less!



Smoothies are awesome!

Now, if like me, you’re big on nutrition, but low on time – then this post is for you!

For healthy eating to work for me, it has to be (for the majority) quick, delicious, and easy to make.

I don’t know about you, but I have a million gorgeous ‘healthy eating’ recipe books… and they’re great for special occasions, or when I just want to cook for fun…

But honestly, I just don’t have time to invest ‘massive portions’ of my day preparing food…

However, I don’t want to compromise on nutrition either.

Catch 22? Not really!

With a little bit of ‘forward planning,’ you can create delicious, nutritious Smoothies in about the same time that it takes to ‘make’ a pot noodle.

And the great news is: that if done right, these Smoothies will leave you feeling nourished, energized, and without a post ‘fast food’ regret or energy slump.

Now, if you’re thinking:

‘Yeah, in theory, that sounds great… but practically, I’m just not sure?’…

I have something that may just convince you to give it a go:

At Lion Heart Herbs we recently ran a ‘Create your own Smoothie or Elixir Competition.’

We knew our Amazing Customers would come up with some inspired Quick and Easy Recipes that were both Nutritious and Delicious…

We weren’t disappointed!

We set the following criteria for the competition:

  • Your Smoothies must taste delicious 

  • Your Smoothies must take no longer than 10 minutes to make

The results were amazing!

So amazing in fact, that we decided to share them here- so that you can benefit them too 🙂

Blend em, slurp em, stick em in a flask and take them to work with you… it’s just too easy!

Best of all you can ‘mix up’ the ingredients and create your own Recipes too!

Presenting: 13 Super Smoothies You Can Make In 10 Minutes… Or Less!

This gorgeous Recipe is from the very talented Siobhan Dolezal of
 Plant Seeds:

1 mango
1 orange
1/2 avocado
1 tbsp LHH goji extract powder
1 tsp LHH maca extract powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp LHH turmeric extract powder
3 tbsp golden flax seeds
3 cups spring water (or more until desired consistency – depends on the size of your mango etc)

Enjoy consciously

This delicious Smoothie was created by Jonathan Heisey:

2 1/2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
1 cup macadamia nut milk (or other nut milk)
2 mandarin oranges
Juice of half a lemon
3 TBS hemp seeds (without shells)
large handful of leafy green lettuce
1 1/2 tsp Lion Heart Herbs Pine Pollen extract
1/4 tsp vanilla bean powder
Erythritol and/or stevia to taste
2 drops organic food grade orange essential oil (I used Young Living)

Blend until smooth and enjoy! Serves 2.

We have Maaike Greenlove Dawson to thank for this Beautiful Smoothie Recipe:

2 tablespoons of chia seeds
1 heaped teaspoon of Lion Heart Herbs Barley Grass Powder or LHH Super Greens Powder
1 heaped teaspoon of Lion Heart Herbs maca powder
A large pinch of sea salt
1 cup of almond milk or other non-dairy milk
1 teaspoon of rose water, you could also use lemon juice!

Blend in Nutribullet, or similar and pour into bowl

Top with superfoods, I opt for…
1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds
1 tablespoon of hemp seeds
1 tablespoon of flax seeds
Small handful of chopped mixed nuts

Add a handful of fresh or frozen berries, I used black currents here but you can use what’s in season or whatever you prefer. I love tart berries that provide heaps of antioxidants with minimal sugar.


If you feel like a warming, soothing treat- this amazing Recipe from Andrew Perrier will hit the spot:

The Lion Heart Herbs Serenity blend and the chai spices give a new twist to the classic golden milk turmeric recipe:

1 cup of your favorite homemade non-dairy milk.
(I used coconut milk powder for its creamy texture, it also works great with home made hemp or almond milk).
 1 tablespoon of LHH Serenity blend.
 1/4 teaspoon of ground Chai spice mix (cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg).
 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric powder.
 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper.
 Optional sweetener: stevia drops, maple syrup or blend in some dates to taste.

Warm the milk in a pan.
Transfer to blender.
Add the remaining ingredients.

That’s it. Ready!

With this amazing Smoothie, Debby Gee made fantastic use of abundant seasonal produce:

4 oz milk (your choice/ I use raw cow’s milk)
10 oz spring water (or what you ordinarily drink)
2 Tbsp raw hemp seeds (hearts)
1/2 cup baby kale
1/3 cup raw cranberry
1 white fig (I used dry but fresh would be amazing!)
1 Tbsp LHH Super Smoothie Mix
1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder (10 g protein)
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp vanilla powder
A pinch cardamom powder
A pinch sea salt
Optional: 1/2 tsp LHH Pearl Powder (LHH Super Smoothie Mix already has some in it)

Adjust spices to taste, blend and enjoy.

This tempting Smoothie Recipe was created by Annina Ulmonen:

10-14 oz hot Chaga tea or boiled (spring) water + 1 tsp LHH Chaga extract
~1 tbsp MCT oil
~1 tbsp coconut oil/cocoa butter/organic butter/ghee
1-3 tbsp raw or dark unsweetened cocoa
Maple syrup, whole cane sugar or what sweetener you prefer, for your taste

Add spices, for example:
Cinnamon, cardamom, chili, clove, cayenne pepper, ginger, vanilla or even turmeric and black pepper

*You can substitute the cacao for Super Smoothie mix or carob as these can be less taxing on your adrenals

Optional Extras:

1 tsp LHH Reishi Extract (for creativity!)
or 1 tsp LHH Maca Extract (to get you through the day!

Blend all the ingredients and enjoy! 🙂

This delicious creamy, warm Smoothie with warming spices was invented by Susan Bray: 

It contains Ophiopogon; which apart from tasting good in its own right, is a great Lung Tonic:

1 cup cooked sweet potato
1 date
A few goji berries (approx 1T)
1 T* raw coconut oil
1 T coconut cream powder
1/4 t* raw salt
1t (rounded) LHH Ophiopogon

SPICES – powdered
1/2t cinnamon
1/2t nutmeg (freshly ground if poss)
1/4t ginger
1t turmeric
Small pinch fresh ground pepper
1/4t ground coriander
Pinch paprika/chili/cayenne

KEY: T = tablespoon t. = teaspoon

Instead of water and coconut cream powder, you could use any milk you like, e.g. almond mylk. The coconut oil adds richness.

Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon, desiccated coconut and goji berries on top.


This libido boosting Smoothie, created by John S. Lincks- (Works just as well for women):

8oz Pineapple Juice
8 ground almonds (I use a small coffee grinder)
1/2 Banana
1 Peeled Kiwi
1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
2 Tablespoons Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
1 Teaspoon Organic Maca Root Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Polyrachis Mountain Black Ant
1/4 Teaspoon Reishi
1/4 Teaspoon Cordyceps
Optional: 1 ice cube

Blend on high for 15 seconds, then enjoy!

This Smoothie was created by Georgina Griggs to help sustain her on her morning runs:

2 ripe cantaloupe melons
1 teaspoon LHH Wildblue Berry Powder
1 teaspoon LLH Schizandra powder

Blend and enjoy!

It’s worth noting that this wonderful smoothie is for ‘life’ and ‘not just for Christmas’:

It was painstakingly crafted by the ‘wonderfully’ dedicated Miles Gannon!

Simply add the following ingredients to a high-speed blender:

2 x sticks of celery
1/3 of a peeled cucumber
1 handful of spinach
Half a thumb of fresh ginger
1 heaped tablespoon of pumpkin seeds
1 heaped tablespoon of kelp powder
1 heaped tablespoon of wheatgrass powder
1/2 a teaspoon of sea salt
1 tablespoon of Camu Camu extract powder
5 x Brazil nuts
1 tablespoon of hemp seed oil
1 tablespoon of flax seed oil
1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla extract (sugar-free)
1/4 of a creamed coconut block
400/450ml of spring water


This Smoothie was lovingly created by Ananja Michell for when she has a craving for something sweet:

Instead of having a dessert, I have a smoothie packed with nutritious fresh produce combined with superfood powders.

This recipe is YUM!

It feels super decadent but also packs a healthy punch:

20g activated cashews
1/4 cup porridge oats
4 dates
1/4 frozen banana
1 tbsp salted almond butter (if unsalted use a generous pinch of salt)
Splash of vanilla extract
2 tsp Lion Heart Herbs’ Longevity
250ml filtered water
150g ice
1 tbsp cacao nibs 

Blend all ingredients except the cacao until smooth. Add the nibs at the end and blast for 10 seconds so they’re evenly distributed, but keep their chunky texture.

This Smoothie was formulated by Kee Lekiller as a replacement for Dairy Hot Chocolate:

“The almonds, pine pollen, and rice powder give it a little frothy top.  It contains no sugar or dairy and is a great body fortifier”:

2 teaspoons LHH Chaga concentrated extract

1 teaspoon LHH Reishi concentrated extract
1 teaspoon LHH Gynostemma concentrated extract
1 teaspoon LHH Pine pollen powder
1 teaspoon of 100% pure Cocoa powder
2 teaspoons of organic pure brown rice powder/ or hemp powder (to soften texture)
Homemade almond milk (5-8 almonds blended in 400ml of filtered water) and a small amount of blueberries

Optional: – honey to sweeten, & sometimes I add a small amount of LHH goji powder for extra power.

* You can replace the Cocoa (which can challenge your adrenals) with LHH Super Smoothie Mix.

Blend 400 ml of filtered water with the almonds and berries. Add the fully blended mixture to a pan on the stove and heat gently on low.

Combine all the other ingredients in a mug or glass and add a small amount of hot water to mix them up smoothly together.

Once nicely mixed up, add the contents to the pan on the stove… heat gently while mixing and stirring for a few minutes until smooth and hot. (Do not allow to boil)

Drink and Enjoy!

This Energy Enhancing, Super-Charged Gynostemma Tea was invented by Bernd Te:

* Again you can leave out the Cacao, or substitute carob or Super Smoothie Mix (which is less taxing on your adrenals!)

12 oz.Warm Gynostemma Tea
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
1-2 Scoops Good Whey Protein
1‐2Tablespoons Coconut Crystals
1‐2Tablespoons Raw Cacao Powder
1/2 tsp Blue Majik Powder
1 tsp Lion Herb Polyrachis Extract
1 tsp Lion Herb Cordyceps Extract
Small Pinch Of Sea Salt

Blend and Enjoy with a friend 🙂

If you feel in need of a bit of ‘Rejuvenation’ to restore your energy levels and replenish your jing, then this amazing Recipe by Timothy Michell is for you:

1tsp LHH Rejuvenate Blend
1 1/2 tsp LHH Strength Blend
1 tbsp Lucuma powder
3 tbsp Activated cashews
1 tsp Smooth Almond butter
3 Dates
1 tsp Coconut oil
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt
300ml fresh clean water (preferably clean spring/distilled/filtered)

Optional extras: If you are feeling brave and want an extra energizing ‘jing boost’

1/8 tsp LHH Tongkat Ali
1/16 tsp LHH Shilajit extract

Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend on full until smooth.

Then either continue blending till warm for a delicious latte or add a cup of ice for a cool refreshing hit.

*For the best taste please use all organic ingredients where possible!

Timothy chose these particular herbs because:

The Rejuvenate Blend gives a complete profile on jing herbs, particularly yin jing, while the Strength blend gives you a powerful union of energies with our yang jing favorites.
