If you want to ‘Glow with Health’ all year round, it’s essential to care for your skin on a daily basis from the inside out. The best skincare in the world can’t replace the glow of skin that’s nourished internally!
You see, the state of your skin is directly linked to your overall health, and specifically, the health of your gut.
One of the best ways to keep your skin smooth and supple is to increase the amount of ‘friendly bacteria’ in your ‘gut’ microbiome… And this can be done easily and deliciously with fermented foods such as; kefir, sauerkraut, and kombucha.
Fermented foods have a high nutritional value; and when consumed on a regular basis, they help promote a healthy, diverse ‘gut microbiota‘. In short, the probiotic ‘good’ bacteria and enzymes in fermented food can help your skin ‘glow’ from the inside out!
How To Get Your Quota Of Friendly Bacteria:
There are lots of ways to add fermented foods to your diet; sauerkraut, kimchi, fermented nut cheese, and kombucha are all delicious! However, this divine smoothie is one of my favorites. It’s quick and easy to make; it’s packed to the brim with probiotics, nurturing nutrients, and immunity boosting antioxidants!
It’s the easy way to Look and Feel Amazing all year round!
‘Glowing Skin’ Smoothie Ingredients:
2 cups coconut kefir
2 cups of fresh or frozen berries (cranberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc.)
1 Tbsp seabuckthorn juice (essential vitamins, omega 3, 6, 9, plus the rare omega 7, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties)
1-2 Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp tocotrienols (very high in Vitamin E)
1 Tbsp collagen from grass-fed, organic cows (Great Lakes Collagen)
1 Tbsp Colostrum (loaded with immune supportive properties)
1 Tbsp L-Glutamine or the more absorbable form L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine (super healing to the gut and doubles as a luxurious face mask when whipped up with rose water and collagen)
1 Tbsp Goji Extract
1 Tbsp Wild Blueberry Extract
½ dropper Schizandra Berry Tincture
½ dropper Vanilla liquid stevia
1 Tbsp xylitol (from birch trees)
Juice of one lime
Blend all the ingredients with one cup of fresh spring water in a high-speed blender and serve.
This smoothie is rich, creamy, and slightly warming.
You can even have it as a meal replacement – or as a delicious dessert with some added coconut cream.
Your Next Step:
I’d like to encourage you to try adding fermented foods like water, coconut or milk kefir to your diet for at least four weeks on a daily basis. Try it and let me know the effect it has on your skin.
Remember, your healthy and radiant skin starts from the inside out!
If you’re new to fermented food; start slowly and built up the amounts gradually until your body gets used to it.
